Il freddo mi taglia il labbro inferiore: è l’apertura verso uno spazio altro, verso un nuovo pensiero e una nuova consapevolezza.
Questo piccolo dolore fastidioso mi rende cosciente delle mie labbra. Devo attendere la ricostruzione, ma basta poco perché si spezzi nuovamente.
Attendere significa propriamente ‘tendere a, verso’ qualcosa (dal latino tendĕre col prefisso ad-).
L’attesa è pazienza, calma, pace e allo stesso tempo è tensione, la quale genera impulso, slancio.
Similmente, in un atto vitale, mi accorgo che gioia, consapevolezza e sofferenza possono coesistere.

I live
The cold cuts my lower lip: it is an opening onto an other space, towards a new thought and a new awareness.
This small, annoying pain makes me aware of my lips. I have to wait for the reconstruction, yet very little is enough for it to break again.
In Italian, attendere (‘to wait’) means ‘to tend towards’ something (from Latin tendĕre ‘to stretch, to aim’, with the prefix ad- ‘towards’) – echoing Lucio Fontana’s title Concetto spaziale. Attesa (‘Spatial Concept. Waiting’).
Waiting is patience, calm, peace, and at the same time it is tension, which generates impulse, momentum.
Similarly, in a vital act, I realise that joy, awareness and suffering can coexist.
