I engrave the words ‘ORA VEDO’ (NOW I SEE) on the bridge of the eyeglasses I use every day.
The bridge is a point of interest [from the Latin verb interesse ‘to be in the middle’, composed of inter ‘between’ and esse ‘to be’]. It is an important connection between two territories: one known, the other yet to be discovered.
What one manages to see leaves a mark, it engraves.
